Rayford B. McFarland

Chief Executive Officer

Rayford B. McFarland is Founder and CEO of 21st Century Expo Group, Inc. (21stCEG). 21stCEG’s service to its clients encompasses the broad spectrum of exhibit decoration, tradeshow management, and event design. Mr. McFarland entered the tradeshow/hospitality industry as an assistant banquet manager in 1982. After spending eight years with RP Exhibit Service, he founded 21st Century Expo Group, Inc. in 1991 as a tradeshow decoration and management company serving the rapidly expanding minority convention/special event market.

Over his 30 years he has coordinated hundreds of tradeshows, special events, and corporate exhibit programs across the country. As CEO, he is responsible for the company’s business development and sales/marketing efforts. In addition, he is responsible for maintaining quality control of production services and client relationships.

Leslie McFarland


Leslie McFarland has served in a number of capacities including event management, accounting, administration, and CFO prior to becoming 21stCEG’s President in 2009. Before officially joining her husband, Ray, in managing the company in 1992 she served as the Deputy Director of the National Coalition on Black Voter Participation. Her non-profit association management background provides her with critical experience that has helped in her duties at 21stCEG. She is responsible for account management, financial management, staffing, and association management services in coordination with the client services and production teams.

Iman McFarland

Chief Operations Officer

Iman McFarland, the daughter of Ray and Leslie McFarland, has been exposed to the tradeshow and special event industry since her formative years. Over her 26 years, she has developed an intimate knowledge of working in the tradeshow business while in high school and college. Since graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill she has taken on the responsibility of account management and client services administration for 21stCEG shows and clients.

Michelle Hunt
Director of Events & Facilities

Michelle Hunt joined 21stCEG as its first full-time team member in 1993. During her many years with 21stCEG she has been very instrumental in the company’s growth and development. She has coordinated all aspects of exhibit related services, which includes exhibitor manual preparation, processing of exhibitor orders, communicating with exhibitors throughout the event and serving as the onsite exhibitor services manager for tradeshows. She serves as the direct liaison with the client and is responsible for the overall coordination of the event working directly with Exhibit Services, Production, and Finance ensuring that all event requirements are scheduled and completed in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
